Why do I have duplicate pet advisories after PetExec 3.6?

As part of delivering the pet advisory custom icons and colors feature in release 3.6, PetExec gave you the option to modify and delete the PetExec default pet advisories.  As result, we removed an application preference that allowed you to select just your custom added pet advisories and not display the PetExec default advisories, since it was obsolete. You are seeing duplicates now because  the PetExec DEFAULT advisories that were disabled are now displayed along with your custom added advisories.  You may have pets that are associated with those default pet advisories, if pet advisories are deleted, you will lose any record of the pets that were associated with those advisories. We suggest modifying the pet record to switch them from the old PetExec default advisories to your custom advisories, prior to deleting the duplicate default advisories. Here are the steps, additional details are shown below:

  1. View Advisories from menu-->company preferences-->maintain pet advisories.
  2. View Pets associated with those advisories from menu-->reports-->owner & pet reports-->pet advisory report.
  3. Modify the pet record for each pet to change the advisories.
  4. Once all pet records have been modified with the custom advisories, return to the maintain pet advisories page to delete the default advisory.

With PetExec 3.6 you can now add your own custom colors and advisories to your unique pet advisories as well.  Click for details on Maintaining Pet Advisories.

  1. From the menu-->Company Preferences-->Maintain Pet Advisories to see all advisories and the number of associated pets:

  1. Use the Pet Advisory report in the menu-->reports-->owner & pet reports-->pet advisory report to identify the specific pets associated with that advisory:

  1. Search for the pets listed in the global search at the top of the screen.  Click Modify Pet.  Update the behavioral advisory in the pet record.

  1. Once all pet records have been modified with the custom advisories, return to the maintain pet advisories page to delete the default advisory.
